Description

Similar game as Freecell, but predating it and with 8 Free Cells. In contrast to Freecell, build sequences on suit instead of alternating color. Move all cards to the 4 foundations (top right) on suit, ascending. Use the 8 free cells to temporarily park cards. Eight Off (HTML) is a solitaire card game that is part of the "freecell" family. It features a challenging and engaging puzzle experience where the objective is to move all the cards into the foundation piles in a specific order. The game is named Eight Off because the game uses eight tableau columns (instead of the standard seven in traditional solitaire). The game is highly strategic, requiring careful planning and foresight to solve each puzzle. Classic Solitaire Gameplay: The core mechanics of Eight Off are similar to other solitaire games, where cards are arranged in tableau columns, and players must build stacks of cards in descending order, alternating between red and black suits. The foundation piles are built up from Ace to King, and the goal is to move all cards into these piles to win. Eight Tableau Columns: Unlike traditional solitaire, Eight Off uses eight tableau columns instead of seven, which makes the game slightly more complex. These extra columns give the player more room to maneuver cards but also increase the challenge of organizing the tableau to successfully move cards to the foundation piles. Empty Spaces: In Eight Off, there are empty spaces in the tableau, which are valuable for organizing cards. A key rule is that only a King can occupy an empty tableau space, which adds a layer of strategy when deciding where to place cards and how to free up spaces. Card Movement: Players can move cards between the tableau columns, organizing them in descending order and alternating suits (for example, a red 6 can be placed on a black 7). Only one card or a sequence of descending cards in the correct alternating color pattern can be moved at a time. Foundation Piles: The foundation piles start with Aces and must be built up in ascending order from Ace to King, one suit at a time. Each of the four foundation piles is dedicated to a specific suit (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, or Spades).
